Meet Eddie! 🤖

Eddie is the brainchild of Industrial Lights and Magic VFX (@ilmvfx) artist Paul Braddock. From what I gather his wife wanted a little robot to display in their home so he designed this little guy. He used to produce kits you could build but stopped producing them years ago. He has however made the model available for printing so I bought the files and got started!

His work is beautiful and detailed but like everything else I needed to make him my own. I added a ton of rivets by drilling holes and making the rivets out of sewing straight pins glued into place. I also really wanted to light up his eyes so I printed his eye lenses in a clear resin and while I was at it I thought adding a couple blinky LEDs to his front control panel would breathe life into him.

I have a build video I’m working on that will see the light of day at some point.
