Whenever I add a new piece of equipment to the shop it sits there and I stare at it, sometimes for a few hours and sometimes for months but eventually it tells me what it wants to be. My other Mag Lamp (yes I have a thing for well lit, well magnified work benches) said it was manufactured by Weyland Corp. and belonged below decks on the USCSS Nostromo.

In the case of this Mag Lamp it spoke to me within days. It said “I belong to a future that never happened”, lol. The Illumin-8 was a quick two-session paint job. Cream and vintage blue paint topped with some quickly designed paint masks, then painted on to really give it that retro feel.

There is yet another Mag light to do sometime in the future when it tells me what it wants to be 🙂
