The foundation for any good office/workshop is a good solid desk and work bench. I picked up a pair of desk bases that had crank up tops allowing for a standing desk and a standing bench! —Why not right?— They weren’t anything much to look at but with a little hardboard, some styrene and a whole bunch of rivets I had myself a pair of vintage industrial looking units! The workbench got the added touch of making it look like it was cast iron and given a nice fire engine red and weathered (of course) finish. I added some detail to make it look like it was forged at “Station 6 IronWorks”!
Can you EVER have enough storage space in a small shop? I think not! So I bought a whole bunch (16 to be exact) of sorting boxes and then needed a place to put them. Under my work bench seemed like the only place left. Some plywood and a lot of measuring and poof! I have a cabinet to house all of those cases and storage for my washing/curing station for my 3D printer. And since it’s part of the “Ironworks” bench it got the same treatment.
